pet and rescue photography

rescues

After my wife and I rescued our first dog in 2010 and he died in 2011, I decided there was a need to promote other animals, so they too could find forever homes. Since then we have adopted two more rescue dogs from a shelter in South Korea.

When I go to a shelter my primary goal is to get photographs that can be used for their profiles and shared on Facebook and other rescue websites. I want my pictures to touch a potential adopters heart, I want them to think ‘how cute’ ‘what a great animal’ and ‘they’d make a great addition to our home.’

Along side these important photographs,I also take others that are meant to bring about a whole set of different emotions. I believe you can’t just tell the happy stories and that through a range of photos I hope others will be as willing, as my wife and I were, to open their homes to an animal in need. Some of these photographs break my heart to take and there are times where I wish there wasn’t the need to.

Maybe you wont adopt or foster an animal but I hope that if you can you’ll help out at a nearby shelter or just see animals in a different light.

There are so many people out there trying to help and so many more animals that need caring people like you that need that help. In the end I’m just trying to ‘give back’ in the hope something good comes out of it.

If you’re looking for some of my rescue photographs please look at my portfolio and the most recent ones can be found on Facebook. Feel free to comment, like a photo or ask how you can adopt one of these beautiful animals.

If you live in an area where there is a shelter and you think I can help, please let me know. At the moment I’m in South Korea but in early 2012 I’ll be moving to Virginia America. Contact me now, I’ll help out if I can.
