Okay so after a little bit of stress and a lot more turbulence all four of us made it to America safely.

I’m taking some time to get up and running and getting to a slower pace of life (which can’t be a bad thing).
I’m updating Facebook as much as possible so that’s probably the best way to keep up-to-date with the ongoing situation for the next week or so. I’ve already got 4 dogs to take photos of and 6 photoshoots in April.
And for those of you that have followed Bambina and Hope in South Korea and now America, they are doing great.

Let the madness begin.

The dogs reservations have been made, their flights to America confirmed (not without some drama though) and now it’s time to start packing some boxes to send back.

Don’t worry Bambina, no one is being left behind!

I have 44 days left till I touch down in America and no one could be more worn out by living in South Korea than my dog!

She doesn’t even know what it’s like to run around on grass yet. In our town there’s a patch probably the size of your bedroom, so I wont count that!

The Greencard process is over and we are now the parents of a huge pile of paperwork to give to immigration but there’s still the process of getting our two dogs back to America.
The first thing was to do some research, we let Google be our friend in this department and our contacts in South Korea with a couple of rescue groups here were helpful too.
From here we booked the tickets. We went with Delta since they have a direct flight to close to where we want to go. It took a bit of work since the flight is with Delta but it’s a Korean Air plane. After a few phone calls it was all sorted and we booked two tickets out of Korea. If you are doing the same make sure you tell them you have a dog being excess cargo (if that’s how you are going to fly), that way they will make sure there is room and there’s an extra code they’ll add to your booking to show your pet(s) are coming with you.
We are using a pet carrier company in South Korea to make sure our dogs get their checks needed, any shots and the paperwork sorted. We are also using them (paying them) to get our dogs to the airport and checked in. You could do this yourself (for the most part) but the piece of mind for us is great.
Now comes the fun part, shopping. Yes, I said shopping! And I said ‘fun’. Our dogs are our babies so we have started looking around at a company in America which we can order all the things they’ll need from day one. Here’s the list so far;
* food (wet and dry)
* treats,
* bowls,
* ear cleaners (Bambina),
* itch spray (Hope),
* first aid kit (better safe than sorry since we are starting a farm),
* flea, tick and heartworm meds
* name tags…..
I’m sure I’ve missed something. What was it?
You’d think it would be easy but so far, Hope fell asleep on the computer and Bambina has taken her position on the laptop and on Mandy as she tried to start ordering these things.

The dogs know something is up but they have no idea how good it’s going to get in March!
